My Journey In Technology: About 9 years ago I decided to return to school so I could fulfill my dream of becoming an Art Teacher. When I started my journey in 2004 I did not know how to open an email let alone know what that the word “login” meant. I was introduced to blackboard and discovered it was not the board I remembered in school that we wrote on with chalk. I took a technology class as a part the teaching requirements. I also took one digital design class in the art education curriculum. Needless to say, I got through but was,by no means impressed with my work. Two and a half years ago I had the privilege of meeting Kevin Honeycutt who impressed and challenged me with the possibilities of technology. I have implemented several technology pieces to my teaching practice but last year after looking into several masters programs, I decided to take the risk and get a technology masters for my continuing educational experience. I have many goals and ideas I would like to implement in my teaching practice and I am confident this program will help me achieve this goals.

My family at my Husband Master’s of Counseling graduation.
My Family: I have been married for 27+ years to John Mitchell Combs. We have three daughters and son-in-law, a dog and a cat. We have lived in the Mason, Michigan the past 7 years. Our family has lived in five different states and all three of my daughters were each born in a different state. My husband is my best friend and he is my greatest support. I would not be the person I am today without his constant support and belief he has in me.
Things I Love: I love spending time with my family and I love doing anything with them. I love coffee, chocolate , watching movies, eating popcorn and mexican food. I love to paint and do adventurous things. My hope for those I come in contact with is that their life is somehow changed because I have had the privilege to be apart of their life story. My life journey, though it is filled with uncertainty, I know One who has a plan for me and my desire is to run after it without hesitation. Some days I am more fearless, other days I am fearful, but everyday I am faithful.
Things I am learning: I I am learning to use my Macbook. Technology is not easy but it gets easier the more I do it. Trying to be patient with myself. People at least 10 years younger than me are a lot better at computers than I am. Making friends with people a least 10 years younger than me making my learning easier when I have a buddy.
